Caleta de Fuste is situated on the east coast of the island, approximately ten minutes from
the airport. The village of Caleta de Fuste is centered around an old fishing port which is still used by the local fleet.
There is a marina offering a wide choice of excusrsions and the resort has an excellent choice of bars, restaurants
and shops.
The superb sandy beach which slopes gently to the sea is one of the safest on the island for children.

Fuerteventura’s busiest holiday resort has been built up around the town of Caleta
de Fuste, also known as Castillo, about six miles (10km) south of the island’s airport. The resort’s horseshoe-shaped
gently-shelving beach is man-made, covered with imported golden sand. The resort is steadily growing in facilities and popularity,
the latest addition being a golf course, the atlantico shopping mall, cinema, and bowling alley.

The town consists of a long main street lined with low-rise buildings containing many
restaurants and bars. Nightlife is fairly low key here and not for ravers or party animals.
There are numerous watersports on offer, boat trips and even undersea excursions on a submarine
by caleta de fustes harbour.
Caleta de Fuste’s central location makes it a good base from which to explore the rest
of the island, buses are frequent and cheap here so car hire is not really required.
Caleta de Fuste thrives on tourism, with lots of accommodation to offer, a fantastic
golden sandy beach popular for water sports enthusiasts. The tourist centre of El Castillo (the castle) stands next to the
harbour and is well worth a visit.

The town of Caleta is often referred to as a holiday village. The man made beach has been
carefully constructed to avoid currents and is in the shape of a horse shoe. This ensures it is perfectly safe for children
of all ages.
Those wanting to be a little more adventurous can go diving, hire jet skis or learn to windsurf at the
water centre on the beach. The harbour is home to many yachts, catamarans and boats which provide local trips as well as providing
a beautiful backdrop in the evenings.
There is a multitude of good restaurants in Caleta that can cater for all tastes
at very reasonable prices. Steaks and Fish are particularly good, however there are also Chinese, Indian, Greek and English
restaurants all within a close area. There are also a number of good supermarkets within the local area.
Caleta de
Fuste is situated on the east coast of the island, roughly 10km south of the airport and approximately 20 minutes south of
Puerto del Rosario. There is a local bus service, which runs every 30 minutes and provides air conditioned coaches for the
trip
